Nissan’s “With Dad” Super Bowl commercial wins YouTube’s AdBlitz™ 2015

This year Nissan North America has beat out all competition in this year’s YouTube Adblitz with their “With Dad” Super Bowl XLIX commercial. This year there was an increase of 40 percent in total votes cast, with this year’s fan favourite receiving a whopping 60 percent increase in votes over last year’s top pick. Fans chose “With Dad” as their Favourite Super Bowl Commercial of 2015.

The “With Dad” commercial, is about an emerging race car driver and the journey he experiences in one of the highest levels of motorsports competition. Harry Chapin’s iconic “Cat’s in the Cradle” soundtrack is used as a narrative in this commercial – portraying how hard it can be to raise a family and balance work at the same time.

In addition to this ever so relatable story, Nissan introduces the GT-R LM NISMO and the 2016 Nissan Maxima sports sedan. The NISMO will be in this year’s FIA World Endurance Championship, in the LM P1 class, while the Maxima is expected to debut during the auto show in New York this April.

“The tremendous response we’ve had to the commercial is due in part to the excitement around the new vehicles teased in the spot, but mainly came down to creating a story that authentically resonated with our audience,” said Fred Diaz, senior vice president, Nissan Sales & Marketing and Operations U.S., Nissan North America. “In the commercial we saw both parents share equally in the courage, hard work and sacrifice required to keep the family strong – a struggle many people can relate to in their own daily lives.”

In preparation for the Super Bowl, Nissan teased fans with a series of fatherhood themed commercials made in association with popular YouTubers – releasing them to their extensive fan bases. Nissan encouraged viewers during the Super Bowl to post their own #WithDad moments to social media, to help engage the audience and excite them about the campaign.

As of today, the “With Dad” spot has received more than 22 million views since it was first posted on February 1, 2015. It is available for viewing at
